Zhao laboratory is an interdisciplinary research group that combines diverse bioengineering and chemical approaches to develop novel techniques for investigation of biological and pathological processes in tissues and cells.
Dr. Zhao (former MIT) and Dr. Bucur (former Harvard Medical School) have a long-standing collaboration starting in 2015, being the main contributors of the MIT-Harvard University team that develop the Expansion Pathology (ExPath) method, published in Nature Biotechnology (2017) and Rapid Expansion Pathology (rExPath) method, published in Nature Protocols (2020). They also have 3 US patents published together.
